Crystal Velvet developed as sister store to Beads By Design, a successful online bead store also run by Designer Karen Clark.

Karen's creativity started as a child when her bedroom become a hub of activity and hording place for useful bits and pieces that might one day come in handy (nothing's changed!) After going in other directions, Karen returned to the creative world and qualified as a professional interior designer. It was when she was seeking out local publicity for this, that her jewellery was seen and began to be enjoyed and appreciated. It seemed that jewellery and beads were the way she was meant to go.

Many years later, having honed and developed her skill's, Karen is still creating new and excting lines in "all things wedding and not wedding". Karen provides a multitude of services in the creative field, Bespoke commisisions are always welcome.

Although it is not a bricks and mortar store,Karen will welcome clients with pre booked appointments. Chat and coffee are all thrown in.

Karen has written articles for many magazines and has been commisioned to develop craft projects. She has had many of her items featured and has even had a front cover feature.

Karen is a regular speaker and demonstrator for local interest groups eg. WI Women's groups etc.

She is happy to bring her stall to your charity event.

Karen also teaches beading on a one to one basis or at children's or adults beading parties.
